8-9 March 2025, Horspath, Oxford – Entries Close 26th February

Entries for this event at Lee Valley close on 26th February 2025 at 11.59pm.This is the link you need to enter. You can read below the reasons Debbie and Kevin Murch have given for entering this Championships.

Debbie and Kevin’s reasons for entering BMAF Championships

Anyone who is exercising to keep strong, healthy and fit or is already a track athlete should consider joining the “Throws Community”. You will not find a more encouraging and supportive group of officials, coaches and athletes in any sport. There is a throw for everyone and some seek to master them all ! We all start as novices and only with time and perseverance can we hope to push our personal limits whilst also endeavouring to conquer the “age barrier”, some of us making it a life long quest!

Debbie and I have always participated in different sports. As older athletes we are still eager to exercise and keep fit and athletic throws events have provided us with an avenue to measure ourselves against our own personal targets as well as other like minded athletes. It has taken us many years to become proficient in all of the throws which has enabled us both to become multiple British Champions in our individual events and the throws pentathlon. That journey has been and continues to be full of blood, sweat and tears as we seek to hold back “old age” but we are helped by the continuous friendship, camaraderie, laughter and support of the “Throws Community”.

So everyone should “Give A Throw A Go !”
