Manuel Mordi and Pascal Boden move down into the DLV team
Two German athletes had to cancel their start at the European Team Championships in Madrid (Spain; 27th to 29th June): In the men’s hurdle sprint, the German champion Manuel Mordi (Hamburger SV) will replace the German U23 champion Gregory Minoué (TV Kalkum-Wittlaer). After the cancellation of Steven Freund (LAC Erdgas Chemnitz), the DM third from Dresden Pascal Boden starts. All information about the team European Championship.
Alina Ammann celebrates 800-meter-comeback
16 months after her hall DM title over 800 meters, Alina Ammann (TuS Esingen) has again completed a race over her special route: At the state championships of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein in Lübeck, the Mittelstreckler won the-albeit only hand-packed-time of 2: 09.0 minutes. The long absence of the 27-year-old was due to health problems. “I had pain in the hip for about a year and in the area of the Achilles tendon and problems in the Beuger. Means: I couldn’t run quickly.” Alina Amann admitted that she was still not completing speed training, and so the race from Lübeck was a tactical one: “I hadn’t made any time. I just wanted to run again because I wanted a competition. I didn’t do that for so long. But I train for that.” Markus Tischler
Austin Miller and Chunge Niu lead fields in court
The International Hofer pole vault meeting received guests from eight nations on June 28th. For the Challenger Meeting, the American Austin Miller with a best performance of 5.91 meters and the Chinesin Chunge Niu with a house record of 4.65 meters have been announced for the Challenger Meeting. The German colors represent the World Cup participant of 2023 Gillian Ladwig (Schweriner SC) and the former U20 European champion Sarah Franziska Vogel (Eintracht Frankfurt).
Register now for the talent high jump camp 2025 in Sondershausen
Germany has jumping talents-the German Athletics Association (DLV), together with the “Friends of Athletics”, wants to get to know, sift and promote at an early stage. Atmospheric premiere for “The Lightning 10000” in Marburg
In high summer temperatures, the premiere of the runner’s meeting “The Lightning 10000 – Marburg” rose on Sunday with more than 200 athletes from 18 nations. The only downside was after 10 p.m. when the existing light was not sufficient to electronically evaluate the end times of the last race over 10,000 meters. The race became a solo of 23-year-old Kenyan James Matelong (27: 54.0 min), who prevailed well in front of his compatriot Jackson Kipleting (28: 16.0 min), and Johannes Motschmann (SSC Berlin) increased his best time to 25: 35.0 minutes.
