800-meter runner Majie Kolberg showed her best race of the open-air season in Ostrava on Tuesday. In 2: 00.11 minutes, only one hint of the two-minute limit was missing. In the pole vault, Armand Duplantis took care of the next flight show, over 200 meters a super talent from Australia shone.

The “Golden Spike” meeting in Ostrava (Czech Republic) was once again a guarantee for top services on Tuesday. So also over 800 meters of the women: Prudence Sekgodiso (South Africa) ran at the top in 1: 57.16 minutes of the meeting, behind it tumbled on the best performances and state records.
Majie Kolberg (LG Kreis Ahrweiler) posted a new best time. The Olympic semi-finalist became eighth in 2: 00.11 minutes and also picked up the confirmation standard (2: 00.70 min) for the World Cup in Tokyo (Japan; 13th to 21 September). Training partner Alica Schmidt (SCC Berlin) came close to her house record (2: 04.51 min) in the B-run 2: 05.06 minutes, which she had only set up in Geneva (Switzerland) on Saturday.
The javel throwing decisions were also held in Ostrava with German participation. The Olympic champion from 2016 Thomas Röhler (LC Jena) increased to 79.18 meters seventh in the last round. World champion Neraj Chopra (India) prevailed at 85.29 meters in front of the state record throwing South African Douw Smit (84.12 m). Armand Duplantis only fails due to the world record
As expected, the highlights of the meeting included the pole vault with world recorder “Mondo” Duplantis. In the 400-meter race, led by Salwa Eid Naser (Bahrain; 49.15 sec), three athletes under 50 seconds. Lynna Irby-Jackson (USA; 49.82 sec) and indoor world recordler Femke Bol (Netherlands; 49.98 sec), who gave her seasonal debt on the flat distance after three races over 400 meters in Ostrava, also undercut the brand.
