The EMA and the Madeira 2025 LOC, to avoid any misunderstandings regarding the organisation of the Stadia championships, want to clarify two important topics:
Machico Track
The decision to move a few events (1500m, 5000m, 10,000m, and 5K Track Race Walk) from the Machico stadium to Câmara de Lobos was not due to any oversight by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) or the EMA. Unfortunately, because of several delays, the planned renovation works for the Machico track were not carried out. To ensure the health and safety of all athletes, we were therefore obliged to move these races to the new track in Câmara de Lobos. Shuttle buses will be available for athletes who have booked accommodation in Machico.
Throwing Pentathlon
For technical reasons (the javelin landing area in one venue is too hard), the Throwing Pentathlon will take place across two locations: RG3 and Ribeira Brava.We confirm that the correct order of events will be maintained, and that all records and performances will be valid, as both venues are certified.Adequate shuttle bus services will be provided by the LOC.Further details will be shared after the registration deadline and entries validation.
